Arthur Herbert Smith was born on 23 April 1895 in Rochdale, Lancashire to Arthur Herbert Smith & Elizabeth Jane Richardson. He was employed as an Apprentice Printer prior to enlisting. Arthur served in the Army as a Private in WW1, service no. 265603 and died on 03 April 1917 in Woolwich, London, England. He was buried 07 April 1917 in St. John’s Churchyard, Crossens, Southport.
