Wilfred Blackburn was born on 14 November 1891 in Barrowford, Lancashire to Arthur Blackburn and Selina Dawson. He was employed a weaver for a cotton manufacturer prior to enlisting and married Elizabeth Halsall in 1915. Wilfred served in the Army as a Private in WW1, service no. 240469 and died on 14 February 1918 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England. He was buried on 19 February 1918 in St. Cuthbert’s Churchyard, Churchtown, Southport.
