William Edward Rothwell was born on 12 December 1885 in Oldham, Lancashire to James Rothwell & Sarah Ashworth. He was employed as a Spinner prior to enlisting. He married Amena Platt in 1907 and leaves one son James. William served in the Army as a Private in WW1, service no. 3514 and died on 09 July 1915 in Southport, Lancashire, England. He was buried 13 July 1915 in St. Cuthbert’s Churchyard, Churchtown, Southport.
