William Iddon was born on 20 April 1923 in Southport, Lancashire to Thomas Iddon and Mary Ann Abram. He was employed on his uncle’s farm prior to enlisting. William served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve as a Sergeant in WW2, service no. 2216149 and died on 16 February 1944 in The North Sea, off the Yorkshire Coast. He was buried on 21 February 1944 at St. Stephen’s, Banks.
