William Sawyer was born on 29 April 1915 in Southport, Lancashire to Robert Sawyer & Alice Gregson. He was employed as a Dairy Farmer prior to enlisting. He married Phyllis Lloyd in 1941 and leaves one son Robert William. William served in the Army as a Fusilier in WW2, service no. 3455883 and died on 23 June 1942 and was buried on 27 June 1942 in St. Cuthbert’s Churchyard, Churchtown, Southport.
